With the help of artificial intelligence, researchers at Stanford University have found that it’s unlikely we’ll be able to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

The study predicts more heat records will be shattered in the year’s ahead – and suggests that even if current goals are met, there is a 50 per cent chance global warming will exceed 2 degrees Celsius.

Global’s Amandalina Letterio talks with climate expert Noah Diffenbaugh about the study’s troubling findings, and what they mean for the climate fight ahead.
