This is a review of Pimsleur French and the Pimsleur Method overall. I completed 4 levels of Pimsleur French (as well as a level of Egyptian Arabic, Hebrew, and Tagalog) and I think it`s quite a useful method for building your speaking, listening, and command of basic sentence structure. It`s a great way to build to escape the trap of traditional book-heavy learning that may give you a lot of knowledge of the language that you can`t apply to communication.

But Pimsleur isn`t the only material you should use, and there are some reasons for this: visual input is important; uncontrolled practice is important.
