Maintaining a golf course is far more technical than most people think. Even when no tournaments are happening, maintenance continues. After it rains, standing water must be addressed immediately. The solution? The ground is punctured with small steel spikes to release air pressure and speed up drying. In the morning, dew on the grass is cleared either manually or by dragging a long rope across the field. Golf holes are also created manually—workers use a hole cutter to make clean cuts, then insert a plastic cup and place a flag as a marker. If the grass is damaged by swings, the grounds crew replaces it with fresh turf—cut, fitted, and pressed until it blends seamlessly.
