Grist To The Mill Reel 2 (1963)

Sunblest promotional film - see reel 1. Manchester. Street scenes including cars and bus passing Manchester Library. Interior of a coach - various shots of group of girls inside coach. They are catering students on their way to the Sunblest Kingpin Mill (?) - coach stops and they get off. Demonstration kitchen. Nice shots of woman preparing cake and taking another out of the oven. The students are 'not just mums to be' but training to be cookery teachers. Teacher is demonstrating how to make a Swiss Roll - yum! Kinpin cake mixes on a conveyor belt. Various shots of work in the mill. Flour is being packed - 'untouched by human hand'. Nice shot of packets of Sunblest self-raising flour. Close up of Vitbe logo (whatever happened to that?). Various shots of the Vitbe mill - exterior and interior. Narrator talks of the failure of the Russian grain industry and again sings the praises of Sunblest. Fairclough's Flour lorry is seen driving up to Scotts Bakery (not told where this is). Aerial shot of Avonmouth. Grain barges. Gloucester port and mill. Barge pilot. Tewkesbury. Healings Mill. Tewkesbury Cathedral Tower and street scenes. Justice of the Peace is greeted by a policeman and a man sitting outside his house. The Justice of the Peace is John Healing head of the family mill - although it is owned by Sunblest he still runs it. Mr Healing puts on a white coat. Sugden's Mill in Brighouse - family photographs are seen on wall. Richard Sugden is Managing Director of all Sunblest mills. His son David Sugden is seen working with him. Edward Cordwell (sp?) at Newark grain market. Various shots of men looking at quality of grain outside a pub. Various shots of market day in Newark. Combine Harvester at work - Edward Cordwell drives up in his Rover car and speaks to his son who is helping on the farm. Southall (sp?) in Nottinghamshire - father and son arrive at the mill. The Donovan brothers are seen at their mill in Nottingly (sp?) Yorkshire.
