Answer: "Well, in 1954, seven of the leading manufacturers in this country gave a grant of £250,000 for the Medical Research Council".



CU. Bill Symon asking question: "So far what are the conclusions reached by your organisation?" CU. Sir Alexander speaking: "They are given very clearly in the annual report which we just issued, which shows I think, that there is a need for much more research and over a wide area, and in my opinion to single out smoking as a caused agent is on evidence today, completely unjustified." SV. Bill Symon thanks Sir Alexander for his statement, and Sir Alexander asks Bill Symon to have a cigarette.
