Like stars falling into the ocean | Journey to the wild #shorts
The 'blue tears' are mainly caused by a bioluminescent marine plankton called 'sea fireflies (Vargula hilgendorfii)'. When stimulated by the crashing waves, their luminescent glands emit a light blue glow. When a large number of these plankton gather, they create a stunning fluorescent blue sea. Pingtan in Fujian province of southeast China is known for the dreamy natural phenonmenon. It is more romantic when blue tears occur on a rainy day!
