Samoan boxing coach Lionel Elika Fatupaito, who died suddenly at the age of 60, was a key figure in the country's boxing community. Fatupaito, who was with an athlete during a heart attack, was pronounced dead at the scene from "natural causes." The International Boxing Association (IBA) confirmed the news, offering condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. Fatupaito, who taught heavyweight Ato Plodzicki-Faoagali, was a two-time Commonwealth Games silver medalist and two Pacific Games gold medalist.
A wax model of Sinead O'Connor was unveiled at a Dublin wax museum, causing criticism from fans who claimed it looked nothing like the musician. O'Connor's brother demanded the statue's removal. The museum is working on a new wax figure that better reflects O'Connor's spirit and iconic image. Artist PJ Hegarty spent nine months on the sculpture, but was "unwell" during the process. Bernice Johnson Reagon, a civil rights leader and co-founder of The Freedom Singers and Sweet Honey in the Rock, passed away at 81. Born in Georgia, she studied music at Albany State and was inspired by King Jr.'s arrest. Reagon married Freedom Singers co-founder Cordell Reagon and started Sweet Honey in the Rock.
